Whether you’re new to electronic cigarettes or have been using them for a while, flavor fatigue is something that all e-cigarette vapers encounter from time-to-time. More commonly as “vaper’s tongue”, this problem can be tough to overcome but is far from unbeatable.
What is it?
One of the perks to vaping electronic cigarettes is being able to enjoy a myriad of e-liquid flavors. Vaper’s tounge is when you can no longer experience flavors as strongly. Suddenly, you cannot taste that Swagger e-liquid you loved so much.
What Causes It?
Smoking traditional cigarettes is the leading cause for flavor fatigue. Whether you are a smoker or you know a smoker, it is no secret that smoking dulls your senses. Smokers do not enjoy flavors and smells as well as non-smokers. A quick solution is just to quit smoking (or vaping a certain flavor) for a few weeks to give your senses a chance to recover.
Not Enough Variety
No matter how much you love vaping that gummi bear e-liquid, you’ll want to add a few other flavors into the rotation. Without switching things up from time-to-time, your taste buds will slowly to become accustomed to a particular flavor. Eventually it won’t taste as strong, and you will end up wondering why your favorite e-liquid suddenly has no taste.
Are You Sick?
If you’ve ever suffered from a cold or allergies, you are no stranger to the fact that your nasal passages and sinuses suffer. When you’re feeling under the weather, it can be hard to smell or taste anything at all. So grab a blanket and some chicken noodle soup, because getting better is the only way to fix this problem.
Quick Fixes
Since vaping can cause dehydration, you need to make sure you are drinking plenty of water. If you are dehydrated, you are going to have trouble tasting anything at all.
Next, you can try shocking your senses. Invest in an e-liquid that is a very strong flavor, even it it’s a flavor you do not really care for. Cinnamon, mint, and menthol are the best e-liquid flavors for shocking your taste buds.
Fortunately, flavor fatigue is not a permanent problem. Once you figure out what is causing it, you can figure out a way to fix it.
