E-cigarettes are continually growing in popularity as an alternative to conventional cigarettes, but are they really safe? Just like anything you put into your body, the ingredients in the e juice tell the tale.
Some doctors and health organizations do not recommend e-cigarettes, mainly because some companies add known carcinogens to their e liquids. But this is not the case with Pink Spot Vapors. Our e juices use an average ratio of 60 percent vegetable glycerin (VG) to 40 percent propylene glycol (PG), and we only use United States Pharmaceutical (USP) grade nicotine in our products. Our PG and VG are USP grade and kosher to ensure customer safety and prevent the risks of toxicity. Our e juices contain no alcohol, vitamin supplements, colors, or other additives.
What are PG and VG?
Propylene glycol (PG) is a clear, slightly syrupy liquid created by the reaction of propylene oxide with water. PG has been safely used in consumer products for decades and its antibacterial properties are used commercially to make drinks (including some beers), cookies, cakes and candies. It has tremendous water-retaining characteristics, making it a safe and effective means to deliver atomized medicines. In fact, PG has been used in asthma inhalers since the 1950s. Electronic cigarettes use PG because it allows for atomization at vastly lower temperatures than those required for tobacco. Vegetable glycerin (VG) is a carbohydrate derived from plant matter and is safely used in everyday cosmetics, food and pharmaceuticals. The FDA has deemed it non-toxic and safe for human consumption.
Combining PG and VG generally produces a vapor that gives less of that unpleasant “throat hit” found in some other formulations and together they maximize the properties of each ingredient. Pink Spot customers can expect a flavorful experience that produces satisfying clouds of vapor every time.
