The Importance of Drinking [water] While Vaping

Dehydration and vaping

The switch to vaping from analog cigarettes is a big one. We hear from customers every day how vaping has helped lessen the challenge of quitting. One of the biggest questions we hear from those who are just switching is the sudden onset of dehydration. As a vaper, you’ve probably already experienced this weird dehydration. It isn’t uncommon among first time vapers and it certainly takes some getting used to. It’s also a really easy problem to overcome or avoid all together.

What causes vaping dehydration?

Pink Spot eJuice contains four ingredients: Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, nicotine, and flavor. The propylene glycol serves as a humectant; basically meaning that it helps to retain the moisture of the eJuice by drawing water particles from the air. It also plays a vital role in the process of converting the eJuice into vapor. It’s totally safe and in fact, PG is used in tons of medicines, and foods (looking at you, ice cream). One of the side effects of PG being such an amazing humectant is that it does a really great job absorbing moisture. Not only from the air, but also from your mouth when you vape.

What can I do to prevent vaping dehydration?

Preventing and curing that vaping dehydration is super easy. Since most of us are living in the Las Vegas heat already, we don’t have to be told about the importance of drinking water and staying hydrated. For the most part, we’re already consuming enough water to keep the dehydration at bay. But for those of us who have a hard time drinking enough water (I’m one of those) now is the time to get yourself on track. Hey, water only does great things for you anyways! Your skin will thank you.

How can I tell if I’m dehydrated?

Is your mouth dry? Are you thirsty? Do you have a headache? Is your pee dark? Dry eyes? You’re dehydrated! You can easily cure dehydration by drinking more water. Stay away from soda though, because ironically it also contains PG and will only make you thirstier. Drink water, tea, iced tea, juices, smoothies, Gatorade… anything. Water will be the most effective.
